Avian-influenza zoning makes traceability an operating requirement

Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/2056, published on 10 September, again amends the Union’s emergency measures in response to outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza. In legal terms, the decision updates the annex to Decision 2023/2447. For poultry businesses, it demonstrates that disease management does not end with confirmation of an outbreak: it translates into zones, movements, restrictions and documentary evidence throughout the chain.
