Wild-game donation becomes a processing and traceability task, not merely a hunting policy

A U.S. executive order published on 17 September explicitly places wild-game donation and processing within federal policy on hunting access and population management. The Department of Agriculture is directed to issue guidance supporting state-based wild venison donation programmes, including through the Emergency Food Assistance Program. The Department of the Interior is also directed to encourage state agencies to facilitate the donation and processing of wild game for schools and food banks, especially in managing abundant white-tailed deer populations.
