Austria’s base quotation for finishing pigs remained at €1.52 per kilogram of slaughter weight on September 23, after the pig exchange cut it by twelve cents on September 16. Fleisch & Co attributes the pressure to a greater supply of slaughter-ready animals, rising carcass weights and difficult sales, particularly in export markets. This is a specific market indicator, not an identical farm-gate income figure for every producer.
