China’s beef safeguard turns Brazil’s shipment calendar into a value factor

For Brazilian beef, China’s safeguard makes export volume a matter of timing, quota and plant eligibility. The public development bank BNDES reports that Brazilian meat exports grew by 27.8% in the first half of 2026. According to its analysis, part of that increase reflected earlier shipments of beef to China before the quota became constraining.
