The iron message works only when meat communication stays nutritionally precise
Nutrition communication about red meat becomes credible only when it clearly distinguishes information, recommendation and commercial messaging. Meat & Livestock Australia launched its Iron Awareness Week campaign by stating that one in three young Australian women has insufficient iron stores and consumes around half of the recommended daily iron intake. The organisation positions lean red meat as a source of haem iron, which the body absorbs more readily than non-haem iron from plant foods.
