Retail data show that cuts and meal formats now outweigh the broad meat category

British retail data published on 21 October show that red meat does not follow one single demand trend. In the 12 weeks to 4 October, total volume fell by 1.9% year on year. Within categories, however, movements diverged sharply: processed and added-value beef, selected fresh pork cuts, and marinated or sous-vide pig-meat products grew, while lamb faced particularly strong pressure.
