Poultry availability separates by species, bird weight and condemnation rate

The poultry-slaughter report published on October 23 clearly separates volume, bird weights and condemnations. In September, U.S. ready-to-cook poultry certified wholesome totaled 4.74 billion pounds, slightly below the previous year. Total federally inspected live weight was 6.22 billion pounds, also marginally lower. The data therefore do not support a reading of uniform expansion across poultry supply.
