Feedlot innovation only creates value when it changes decisions under commercial conditions

The next funding round of Australia’s Feedlot Research for Accelerated Adoption (RAAD) programme will focus on animal productivity. The five-year, A$45 million Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) initiative does not simply fund technology ideas: it is designed to test technologies, production systems and management practices in commercial feedlots before wider adoption is encouraged.
