Methane Needs a Second Metric in Meat-Sector Climate Reporting

Corporate greenhouse-gas inventories often compress very different emissions into a single carbon-dioxide-equivalent figure. A new paper published in Frontiers in Climate proposes that livestock and meat companies retain GWP100 reporting but complement it with GWP* for biogenic methane. The purpose is to better reflect how changes in methane emissions relate to warming over time.
