The poultry sector gains relevance when animal health and consumption share one forum

At the SOMMET DE L’ÉLEVAGE in Clermont-Ferrand, the French poultry sector has introduced an Agora dedicated to white meat and animal health in Hall 2. AFIVOL is participating from 6 to 9 October alongside ANVOL, CNPO, ITAVI, ILGS and CLIPP. The programme brings together discussions on animal health, biosecurity, consumption and food sovereignty—subjects that are often handled separately across the poultry chain.

The value of this format is not only its trade-show visibility. It brings production, applied science, sector organisations and public debate around one operational question: how to maintain product availability, animal health and consumer acceptance at the same time. For the white-meat industry, this spans disease prevention and rearing conditions through feed supply, logistics, slaughter, processing and consumer communication.

Biosecurity is a useful illustration of that interdependence. It is not solely a farm issue: its consequences reach animal movements, slaughter planning, trade zoning and supply continuity. Likewise, consumer expectations cannot be answered by advertising alone; they require specifications that can travel from rearing through labelling and the retail counter.
