Antimicrobial evidence becomes the market-access test for Brazilian beef

From 3 September 2026, European requirements on the use of certain antimicrobials will be explicitly linked to market access for certain animals and foods of animal origin from third countries. According to Fleisch & Co, Brazil has not yet provided the guarantees required for beef. This is not about an analytical result from an individual consignment, but about binding proof that EU restrictions are met throughout the supply chain serving Europe.
