Circularity becomes relevant to meat when material flows and food-grade use are demonstrable

Circularity and innovation for livestock will be central themes at the informal meeting of EU agriculture and fisheries ministers in Dublin from 6 to 8 September. The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking, which reported on the meeting on 2 September, identifies two core questions: how research and innovation can support Europe’s livestock and protein sectors economically, socially and environmentally, and how farmers—particularly smaller ones—can be helped to adopt new technologies and practices.
