Vietstock turns market access into a chain-wide capability question
Vietstock opens on 21 October 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City and runs until 23 October. The exhibition spans animal feed, livestock production, animal health and meat processing. According to the organiser, it is expected to bring together more than 300 brands, around 13,000 trade visitors from 40 countries and regions, and more than 10,000 square metres of exhibition space.
For the meat sector, the interest lies in more than the event’s scale. The programme explicitly links farm-level subjects with issues that remain relevant after slaughter: biosecurity, responsible antibiotic use, food safety, digitalisation, management and competitiveness. On the opening day, a conference is scheduled on building a safe, green and sustainably competitive livestock value chain; a swine-disease conference will also focus on African swine fever.
On 22 October, sessions address Vietnamese beef-cattle production prospects, an administrative dialogue with livestock and animal-health businesses, and a One Health forum. The latter joins animal health, human health and environmental concerns, including disease prevention, biosecurity, responsible antibiotics and food safety. On 23 October, a ruminant-production conference will focus on circular agriculture.
The event illustrates a relevant trend for international buyers, processors and technology suppliers: market access is no longer discussed only through price or volume. Supply chains are presented as systems in which production, health status, administrative requirements, technology and processing must work together. It remains to be seen which contacts and projects the event will produce. Yet the programme itself shows that regional competitiveness is increasingly being negotiated as an integrated chain capability.
